LTCL, ABRSM grade 8, piano and viola.

I have been teaching piano for over 30 years from my London studio.

Giving in-person piano lessons in Islington, North London and online lessons worldwide.

My background is Music College and a foot in both the pop and Classical world.

I have created exciting new, original methods of teaching piano.

These have been honed over many years and tested by my students.

So I know they work! These include new ways to learn reading notes, count rhythms, understand useful theory, how to improvise or play jazz and importantly -how to practice effectively (ie: NOT practice your mistakes!)

After decades of teaching, I realized that many students struggle with the complexity of learning music. My core focus is to make piano easily accessible to everyone!

I’ve created simplified methods to help students confidently work through challenges and thrive at every stage of their progress. It brings me so much joy to witness their success! (You can read more about their experiences on my Reviews page.)

I’m currently excited to be writing:

• A book on the best piano practice techniques.

• A unique piano tutorial series.

•Books on how to easily learn jazz and improvisation.

Playing piano is the best brain workout!

Science tells us that playing piano is shown to light up more areas of the brain than other activities. We already know the process of learning a musical instrument helps significantly in developing better memory, discipline, coordination, dexterity, focus, patience, resilience….

There is also something magical about the process of learning piano that adds more substance and meaning to life. You can’t beat that sense of achievement you get with each little challenge you overcome. I have found that practicing piano is like meditation. Brain and body are too focused to think about anything else!
